• Sometimes I get annoyed at myself for being a chatty, eccentric and messy  but then I remember people actually like that about me

  • Where’s that ancient poem about marrying a party girl? yeah

““ I’m stiff in my tracks trying to recover
From whatever drug you used to put me under
I don’t believe in love at first sight
I don’t believe in love at first sight
It’s hard enough for me to not fall in love with every person I see

  • İ saw several posts today pointing out the terf tendency to attack trans women for features they share with cis women of colour, usually with the conclusion that these aren't real feminists. but this line of reasoning, while true in the initial facts it presents, is to saddle the horse from behind, they don't attack trans women bc they have these features, they attack women with these features bc they think they're trans. this distinction is important bc to not make it is to ignore the radfems of colour who simply distance themselves from the racist parts of the ideology and then claim to have left their terf days behind. of course the average hardline white terf is a white supremacist, but to say that's all it is and thus not feminist leaves out the crucial part that you can reduce the racism to a minimum and still have an ideology that is still just as transmisogynistic but probably more in line with standard feminist thought now. yes, transmisogynie and white supremacy are connected, and this connection is a crucial one to analyse, but deduce that thus terfs aren't feminist is pure negligence probably rooted in an unwillingness to see and admit to this specific vector of ideological development

  • The No True Scotsman argument is often brought out against TERFs because people on the left tend to automatically ascribe a moral value to feminism. i.e., 'Feminism is good, and these people aren't good, so they can't be feminists.'

But feminism is value neutral. It's just a theoretical framework, and one that has demonstrated itself to be in fact completely compatible with upholding violent systems; white supremacy, transmisogyny, capitalism, etc. You can't just go around saying oh, well, intersectional anarcha-transfeminism (or whatever) is the only *real* feminism, because then you aren't going to notice when someone is using the feminst framework to couch more sinister ideas. This is why you have people now proudly identifying as cryptoterfs--they know the game.
